Hi there! I am a 4th year PhD candidate in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. In my research I leverage health economic theory, causal inference methods, and large data sets to examine the implications of health care policies, sitting at the intersection of health services research and health economics. As part of my broader research portfolio, I examine the performance of different forms of Medicare coverage, explore alternative payment models for pharmaceuticals, and assess the impact of health care price transparency. Currently, my primary research evaluates the impact of prior authorization policies on drug prescribing and medication switching within Medicare Advantage (MA).
My research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), The Lancet, and Health Services Research.
Prior to matriculating into the Hopkins PhD program, I worked as a Fellow at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation in Seattle. I hold a graduate degree in public health from the University of Washington and a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Virginia.
